Picassiette: a must-see during your stay in our hotel

Maison Picassiette

Built by Raymond Isidore in 1929 as a home to his family, the house of this former foundry worker and Chartres road mender was transformed into a work of art over the years. Bedecked in pieces of ceramic, porcelain, pottery and multi-coloured glass, Maison Picassiette (the name is a wink to Picasso) is an incredible example of outsider, naïve and popular art. Raymon Isidore’s Maison Picassiette is slightly reminiscent of the Palais Idéal du Facteur Cheval but takes us on a completely different journey that is as unusual as it is spectacular.

Found at: La Maison Picassiette is only a few minutes away from ACE Hotel Chartres. It takes 6 minutes by car or 2km walking distance.
